Abstract
Liquid extracts from the noxious weed, woolly nightshade (Solanum mauritianum), were tested as possible allelopathic germination inhibitors on onion (Allium cepa) fields. Extracts had no lasting effect on weed growth, and the liquid may have even accelerated weed growth. There was a slight inhibitory effect from the liquid during the first week of the trials but the difference was not significant.
